A fair share for the North East

Time and again the SNP have use the North East as a cash cow for projects in the central belt. They’ve turned their back on the North East and it needs to change.

Whilst Co-leader in Aberdeen City Council I had to fight to ensure that Aberdeen received the funding it deserved. Unfortunately the Scottish Government were rarely interested. We saw this when Nicola Sturgeon’s Government refused to put a single penny forward to help fund the renovations of Aberdeen’s Art Gallery. Thankfully, the UK Government stepped up and we now have a fantastic modern gallery in our city.

But Aberdeen isn’t alone in not getting its fair share from the Scottish Government. Across the North East local councils are being left underfunded by the SNP. That’s why my Scottish Conservative colleagues and I are committed to keep up the pressure on the Scottish Government, and fight for the North East’s fair share.
